State of the Universe

In a single generation, the ingenuity and curiosity of the Cinnhilif led them to leave the security of their green world and take root on
planets both alien and wondrous. Overcrowding and pollution were eased as the people of Cinnhilif spread themselves across over a hundred
systems and grew rich.

Their expansionist desire had only been more fueled by the past one hundred years expansion and colonization. When the first stable wormhole
was discovered in the Iniecace system, their natures drove them forward once more creating systems of systems in four remote sectors of
space. New jump gate technology harnessed this and four more such wormholes bringing the outer systems, once far too remote to contemplate,
as close as neighboring ones.

Now, three hundred years after the people of Cinnhilif first left their world and thousands of colonies later, the Cinnhilif find themselves
governing an ever expanding number of worlds. The needs of the central government have set taxes in the outer systems soaring and the resources
of the central systems are diminishing rapidly. The political environment has grown tense with the Cinnhilif Grand Council vulnerable to abuse
and corruption as the interests of individuals and worlds now compete with the good of the galaxy.

The Grand Council, controlled by the majority voices from the central systems, is turning inward. The frontier colonies are receiving little
help from their once benevolent government and the central systems continue to suffer as their resources dwindle.

Suffering and hardship have not dulled the Cinnhilif spirit, however. Heroes such as Thoras Agea, space navy pilot and decorated veteran, have
opened training institutes across Cinnhilif space with resources drawn from within the government and elsewhere. Like many, they believe that
the future lies beyond known space. These schools, commonly referred to as flight schools, teach the basics of flight, combat, and business,
preparing potential pioneers and entrepreneurs for the rigors of the space trade and readying them to journey beyond the known worlds.

You have just completed your training. With little to your name besides the new shuttle you’ve just invested in, the universe lies before
you and the possibilities beckon you forward while the dangers give you proper respect for the task at hand. Adventure lies ahead!
